Name «Tolymyr»

The name Tolymyr is derived from the verb "tolyty," which shares a common root with the name Tolihniv and the noun "myr." The earliest recorded form of the name was found in the Southern Carpathian region. For example, in 1221, it was mentioned in the form Tholomerreus (Reg Var 221). The name Tolymyr is also known in South Slavic languages.
