The personal name "Rai" is derived from the surname "Rajo-wicz Jaczko" from 1682 and "Rajowicz Ihnad" from the village of H. Vorty (Maksay 539-540). In Serbia and Poland, the name Rai and its derivatives are derived from the two-root name "Rado-slav," which has been mentioned since the 14th century (Hrk 162; Rymut 334).
