The name Liuborad is not found among Ukrainians, but in 1473, the anthroponym Martinus Luboracz was recorded. The postpositional component of this name retains a reflex of the ancient Greek possessive adjective ending in *-uь from the name Liuborad. The name Liuborad consists of the same root "Liub" (see above) and the root "-rad," which has undergone Polish assimilation of the final phoneme /d/, as represented in the surname Liuboratsky and in the title of A. Svydnitsky's novel "Liuboratsky."A comparison with the Old Serbian name Luborad (Grk 123; Zhel 208) shows that this name was also known in Polish and Croatian.
