The name 'Zui' is a rare personal name, the root of which is embedded in the name of the suburban city of Orekhovo-Zuyevo. Among Ukrainians, this name was borne by a Cossack of the Pereyaslav regiment named Zui (Ivanchенко) in 1649. It is also noteworthy that this name appears in documents where a nobleman is referred to as Jac. Zwj in Ukrainian-Romanian language contacts in Maramureș in 1501.
