Yavolod is an ancient East Slavic two-root personal name, where the prefix component initially likely had the form "Ya-" and represented the archetype "Yaro-." This name is rarely documented as early as 1209, where a figure named Yavolod appears as a Galician boyar, the brother of Yaropolk, a supporter of Roman Mstislavich and Anna. The personal name Yavolod is also mentioned in ancient Smolensk. There was one chronicler in Rus' named Yavolod.
