Name «Yaromyr»

The name Yaromyr has Slavic origins and consists of two parts: "yar-", which means "fierce" or "wild," and "-myr," which means "peace." This name remains popular among Czechs and Slovaks to this day (source: Knappová, 112). Modern dictionaries also list it among the favorite names of Ukrainians (VIL, 113). There are historical mentions of this name, including a note from Lviv in 1414: Niclos Jermir (source: PdLw, III, 12-13). In Slovak documents, the name Yaromyr is recorded in writing from the 15th century (source: Majtän Z, oldest records, 140).
