From this personal name, several names from the Marmaros region, such as Uhlaya and Uhlko, have also emerged, which were mentioned since the mid-14th century, as well as surnames Uhlaya, Uhlayan, and Uhlian, which appear in written documents from the Transcarpathian region since the 16th century. In 1542, one can find the nobleman Laza Uhlia and the village of Uhlaya, while in 1550, the nobleman Petro Uhlian, who lived in the village of Dobryansk, is mentioned.
