Spytko is a derivational variant of a Slavic personal name. It is known in the Hutsul region and in the Galician Lemkivshchyna. There is also an abbreviated variant where the initial sound "s" changes to "sh" - Shpitko. In modern Ukrainian, the surnames Shpytko, Shpitko, and Shpytko exist.
