Nowadays, this name retains its popularity, particularly in Poland and the Czech Republic in the form of Sobeslav. The earliest records of Ukrainians with this name date back to Upper Zatyssia. There are also known names of serfs from the Krasna castle, such as Zoboslou, Utesam, and Bagdanum, which date back to 1250. For example, there is a record stating "Petrus filius Zoboslou" from Uzhhorod region, as well as the name Sobeslao, recorded in 1357.
