Name «Slyvka»

The name "Slyvka" is used in several Slavic nations and originates from the name of a well-known fruit tree or its fruit. In Ukraine, this name began to be used in the mid-16th century. For example, in 1442, the name Slywka was recorded (PdLw IV792), and in 1565, the name Iwan Slivka was noted (ОКЗР I 31).
