Name «Shvarn»

The name "Shvarn" originates from the Polish or Slovak Germanism "szwarny," which means "handsome, neat." For example, in 1146, there is a mention of Shvarn - the voivode of Kyiv, and in 1211 - Shvarno-Yuri Daniilovych, the prince of Holme, Bełz, and Cherven. This indicates that the name "Shvarn" could have come to Ukraine from Poland or Slovakia. Specifically, in 1412, there is a mention: "Jaszconem Swarno... de Kossicze."
