Name «Rusylo»

The personal name "Rusylo" is formed from the anthroponymic base "Rus-" with its original color meaning, using the name-forming suffix "-ilo," similarly to the names Bratylo, Budylo, Hostylo, Dobrylo, Radylo, Stanilo, and others. The name Rusylo and its derivatives have been recorded in Ukrainian lands since the 17th century. For example, in 1618, the serf Rusila Iwan was documented in the village of Sobosh (Marsina 91), and in 1681, a serf Rusilo was noted in the village of Chepa (Szabó 314). It is also worth mentioning the patronymic from 1473 "pan Olekhno Rusilovych" (SSUM II 308). In Bulgaria, the name Rusil is still in use (Kovachev 444). In Poland, the anthroponym Rusilo was recorded as early as 1339 (SSNO IV 214).
