Name «Rasyk»

The name "Rasyk" is a Ukrainian derivative with the suffix -yk, originating from the shortened form of the name "Ras" (possibly shortened from "Rastymir"). In Ukraine, the name "Rasyk" has been documented since the mid-17th century. For example, in 1649, a Cossack from the Chyhyryn regiment named Rasyk Reznichenko is noted.
