The Ukrainian name Raicha is a derivative with the suffix -cha(t) from the truncated base name Rai. In comparison to the ancient Serbian names Rayche and Raya, the earliest Ukrainian fixation of the anthroponym Raicha dates back to 1672. Under the name Raicha, there is the Pereiaslav colonel Dumytrashko Raicha. This name is directly related to the Transcarpathian Ukrainian patronymic surnames of the 17th century, such as Raichyn, Raichych, and Raichynets. For example, in 1682, Rajcsin Andriy was recorded in the village of Sukhyi; in 1699, Rajcsics Stephan was recorded in the town of Svalyava.
