Name «Radyvoi»

The name 'Radyvoi' is a Proto-Slavic disyllabic name composed of the adjective root 'rad-' (which means 'glad', 'joyful', 'lively') and the name 'Voj' (which means 'warrior'). This name can be compared to the Old Serbian name 'Padueoj', as well as to the modern Czech and Slovak variants 'Radivoj'. Among Ukrainians, the name 'Radyvoi' was first mentioned in 1623 when the priest Radyvoi Marinych was a parishioner in the village of Kiryaltelke, located near the city of Hajdúdorog. Another example is the anthroponym from 1780 – Radyvoi Manyukivich.
