A rare Slavic personal name that originated from the formation of a bi-rooted name such as Radomil or Radomysl. The first mention of the name Radom comes from the village of Peneslek, located in the Szabolcs county (Mak Sza 194). In Poland, the name has been recorded since 1218 (Bubak 262). The name continues in the toponym Radoml in Ukraine and Poland (SSUM II286), which arose from the addition of the possessive adjective suffix *-jb to the name.
