In the history of ancient Slavs, Pyrohost is the leader of the Antians who died in battle on the Danube in 597 AD (Tretyakov 180, 193). Considering that the Proto-Slavic word "riģ" means 'hospitality, feast', and "gostъ" means 'merchant, foreigner', the name Pyrohost could be interpreted as 'hospitable merchant'.
