The name "Porada" is likely a newer variation of the name "Porad," which was used among Serbs, Poles, and other Slavs until the 14th century. Genetically, "Porada" is an outdated form of the comparative degree of the rare adjective "rady." The anthroponym (personal name) "Porada" is also mentioned in 1783 in the village of Dalova in the Galician Lemkivshchyna. The possessive-adjective form of the name of the hamlet "Poradova" is attested in the Zolochiv district of Lviv region, and there is also the name "Porazh" (possibly derived from "Poradzh") near the San River.
