Name «Nemyria»

The masculine personal name Nemyria is a variation of the name Nemira. It is mentioned in 1473 in the naming of Nemyria Bohdanovych (Archive of South-Western Russia, IV, 103), and in Lutsk, it is referred to twice in 1444 already in the spelling Nemyria (Dictionary of Modern Ukrainian Language, II, 39).

The name NEMYAK is also mentioned twice in the Varadin registers of 1219 during their localization in the Privisian committee of Bihor: Nemekjoubagio and Nemekreus (Registers of Varadin, 2, 220). In our opinion, the given Slavic name with the negative prefix “ne-” should be read as Nem’yak, meaning 'not soft'.
