Name «Nemyl»

The name Nemyl is derived from the name of the village Nemyliv, which, alongside the name Nemiloe, has been recorded in Lviv region since 1493 and continues to the present day. There is also a mistaken spelling from 1286: Petrofilio Nemul. This name is formed from the adjective "mil" (meaning "dear" or "beloved") and the negation prefix "ne-". In Bulgaria, the personal name Nemyl is still given to unexpected or unwanted children; in this context, its meaning is similar to the name Dosta, which means "enough." The name Nemyl and its derived form Nemiloe are known in the Slavic world. Among Slovaks, the name Nemil has been documented as early as 1225 and 1261, while Nemyl appears in 1274. In Poland, this name is attested even in the 15th century.
