Name «Malka»

The analysis of traditional Carpathian surnames, such as Malchak, in the context of the Bulgarian and Serbian name Malka, suggests that there was a feminine name Malka in the Ukrainian language, derived from the masculine name Mal. The feminine name Malka is also mentioned by M. Seniv in his abstract. In Ukraine, the feminine name Malka is recorded as early as 1446.
