Name «Liutosh»

The name 'Liutosh' is a truncated-suffix Slavic (possibly Polish) formation derived from two-root names, such as Liuto-zhyr or Liutoslav. The earliest written mentions of this name in Ukraine date back to the 16th century. For instance, in 1565, the name Lutosz was recorded (OKZR II 280). In written records of the Polish language, the name Lutosz appears as early as the 15th century (SSNOИИ/2 ЗОЇ).
