Name «Liubovyd»

The personal name Liubovyd is derived from the name of a small estate, Liubovizh, which belonged to the village of Mil'kiv in the Lubachiv district in 1900. The toponym is formed by combining the anthroponymic roots Liub- and Vid, along with the addition of the ancient possessive suffix *-jb, which caused the change of the final /d/ to /z/. (See also D.
