Name «Khvalyboh»

The personal name Khvalyboh is derived from the name of the village Khvalyboh in the Zhytomyr region (USSR ATP 862) and is documented between 1785 and 1788 (cf. Mor 199; X - D 93; Kupch Dvoosnovni 110). It is also based on the patronymic Khvalybohovych from 1459 (Central State Historical Archive 103). Interestingly, both Poles and Ukrainians used the name variants Chwalibog and Falibog in the early 15th century (SSNO I 348 - 349; Mai Bud 157).
