Name «Kholod»

The lexeme "Kholod" in Ukrainian anthroponymy most often appears as a surname associated with personal names. For instance, in 1676, we can find the name Stepan Kholod (Arch. YZR 1/12104), and in 1715 – Cholod Ihnad, Ivan – in the village of Lypcha (Belay 172). However, in certain cases, in the mid-17th century, the lexeme "Kholod" can be considered as a proper personal name. For example, in 1649, a Cossack named Kholod Pysar is mentioned (RVZ 225).
