Name «Izbyhniv»

Izbyhniv is a phonetic alteration (the appearance of a prosthetic /i/) of the ancient personal name Sbygněvŭ at the Old Ruthenian level. In Ukraine, the name Izbyhniv has been recorded in writing since 1152. For example, Izbyhniv Ivachevych was a Galician voivode and an envoy from the Galician prince to Kyiv.
