Name «Hrymets»

Hrymets - genitive form: HRYMETSYA. This is a Ukrainian name, formed through truncation and suffixation from the full two-base name Hrymyslav. Among the known recorded instances, one dates back to 1457 and originates from the village of Chahrov: "a laborioso Hrymiecz kmetone suo" (SSNO II 318). Another, more reliable instance, is Hremez Odovich, recorded in 1563 from the city of Kremenets (Arch. YZR VII/2 117).
