This explanation indicates a closeness to the Polish anthroponym. According to K. Rimut, the Polish name Gawor comes from the verb 'gaworzyć', which means 'to talk indistinctly'. The earliest Ukrainian records of the name 'Hovor' date back to the Cossacks of the Pereiaslav Regiment in 1649, where a Cossack named Hovor Hrynenko is mentioned. In Russia, anthroponyms with the root 'hvor' were already recorded in the 15th century, for example, Ivan Hovor, Ivashko Hovor, and Levko Hovorukha.
