Name «Holko»

The name "Holko" is presumably a truncated-suffix formation derived from the Old Slavic disyllabic name Holislav. In Ukrainian lands, this name was first recorded in 1351 in connection with a person named Holko Zalesky, who lived in the city of Lviv (sources: Tup 109; SSUM I 248).
