The name "Budyholos" originates from the name of the village Budigolosh, located in the Buzk District of the Lviv region. This name was recorded in the 19th century (see sources Mor 2, 8, 4, 7; Buchky Davnoukr 12). The name consists of the same verb as the name "Budivoy," as well as the full vowel noun "holos" (meaning "voice"). In the formation of the name, there was a sound alternation at the end: /s/ changes to /sh/. This phenomenon is due to a regular correlation in the formation of ancient possessive adjectives.
