Name «Boriata»

The name "Boriata" has an interesting history. In Latin transcription, it can be found as "Borathe" among the names of other serfs, such as Zobozló and Henuk, in the Boršod county. This information can be found in the Varadin Registers (RegVar 219). The name is also recorded in 1545 in the forms of the warrior name Boriatin and the surname Boriatinsky, which originated from the personal name Boriata. Additionally, there is a stream named Boriat which flows through the village of Irlava in the Uzhhorod district.
