Name «Zbyslav»

Zbyslav is an ancient Slavic bi-elemental name. Its first part comes from the verb "zbyć," meaning "to get rid of," while the second part originates from the noun "slav" (glory). The name Zbyslav is first mentioned in Ukrainian written records from the 13th century. In early Russian chronicles, it was recorded in 1211 in reference to a boyar from Buzk, Zbyslav Stanislavich. The name also appears in Polish history from the 13th century.
