Name «Poliub»

The name 'Poliub' derives from the Ukrainian toponym of 1503, "Po-lyubychi," and the toponym of 1699, "villis Polubicze." O. Kupchynskyi believes that it is an ancient Slavic name that has no equivalents in other Slavic languages.
