Name «Ester»

From Hebrew אֶסְתֵּר‎, "Esther". The meaning of the name is unclear: it may be derived from the Old Persian "star" or originate from the name of the goddess Ishtar. In the Old Testament, Esther is the wife of the Persian king Artaxerxes.
