Name «Donk»

The earliest mention of the name Donk dates back to 1214, from the village of Ban in the Krasna county, located in the Upper Tisza basin: "Donca pristaldus" (Reg Var 180). The Slavic name Donk may also be traced in the naming of a participant in a court case from the village of Ruska in the Abaúj county in 1221 (Reg Var 180), as well as in the name of a serf of the Uzhhorod castle named Donk from 1214 (Nagy I 30).
