For instance, in 1213, there is a record "Vys serwus," which translates to 'servant Byk' in the Szabolcs county. In 1444, a person named "Nikolaus dictus B y k de Bilanow" is mentioned. In 1502, in the village of Vary, "Petrus B y k" is recorded, and in 1570, "Petrus B y k" is also mentioned in the village of Nelipino. There is also a record of "Bykъ Alexandrovich." This indicates a long history of the use of this name in Ukraine.
